Instructing

The NCAS coaching scheme is now up and running. See the PCANSW website for more information.

Zone 23 Instructors Take the Rains!

Despite the inclement weather Zone 23 Instructors carried all before them, and attended an informative NCAS instructors clinic at Avondale Pony Club on 22nd and 23rd May.

Erica Kelly from north of Tamworth; was impressed by the interest shown and dedication to the task demonstrated by the 16 participants at the course.
" NCAS is the way of the future, and it is great to see so many people willing to volunteer their time to learn about the best way to safely instruct young riders through the Pony Club, " she said.

Erica Kelly works with the EA; as well as PCA NSW in the implementation of the NCAS system. She is in high demand as a presenter as well as an assessor.
I would like to thank Natalie Rochester from Avondale as well as the"Guinea Pig riders" Teisha, Ashleigh, Caitlyn, Phoebe, Angela, Claire, Andrea, Maddy. Also, Craig and Vanessa Neale for their assistance in making this such a successful school.

It is important to note that all Instructors certificates will expire on 30th June to be replaced by the NCAS qualification. NCAS accreditation is achieved by attending an instructors clinic, completing course work in a Log Book coupled with a practical Exam, where instructors teach three lessons and are critiqued by an assessor.

Instructors currently enrolled in the Preliminary Course can Instruct at Rally days under the supervision of a qualified NCAS coach.
All Instructors must update CPR and First Aid annually.
