• STIRRUP FITTING
  With the starting of another Pony Club year I would like to clarify the issue of boots fitting stirrups which was quite contentious at State Dressage in January.
  The stirrup iron must clear the widest part of the boot by 10mm on each side (ie a total of 20mm all up). This is to ensure the foot will come free of the stirrup iron without 'wedging' should there be a fall.
  Please make sure the stirrup is also not TOO BIG as the foot must not be able to slide through the iron for obvious safety reasons.
